—————–

April 12 (this Friday!)

Conor Byrne

5140 Ballard Ave NW. Seattle WA

I’m very pleased to be sitting in with Jeremy Serwer and Holly Figueroa’s on bass and some vocals. It’s been a real treat learning and playing their songs – great music. I can’t tell you why, but I always love playing Conor’s. My good buddy Kelly Paletta on drums.

April 23

Musiquarium Lounge (Triple Door)

216 Union Street Seattle, WA 98101

Sharing the show with the incomparable Larry Murante and disturbingly talented Rod Cook. Larry and I are working up some duets and backups… and I’m hoping to rope Rod into playing on a couple of my tunes. This is not in-the-round. Show starts at 8pm. I’ll most likely go on 2nd, but both of these guys are not to be missed.

April 26

Couth Buzzard Books

8310 Greenwood Ave North, Seattle, WA 98103

Larry Murante and I on our own. This is a wonderful, quiet place to hear music. It’s an earlier show – starts at 7:30pm. I’ll probably be at Angry Beaver next door for dinner and a beer before. And then a glass or two at Couth Buzzard during the show.

May 2 – May 11

RENT

Remember that good buddy Kelly Paletta I mentioned earlier? Well, he hooked me up with a fun opportunity. Listen to this: I’m playing bass in the pit for the Mercer Island Highschool production of RENT. Schedule looks brutal, but I am SO looking forward to it. Now… if I could only read music…

May 8th

The Nectar

Again, sitting in on bass for Jeremy Serwer. Kelly Paletta on drums, Phil Sottile on electric guitar. Show at 8pm.

——————–

NEWS

——————–

I am blessed to be part of such fantastic projects. It’s been an exciting spring.

In the studio with jean mann

I have been having a great time co-producing with jean mann and crew at Studio Litho in Fremont. She’s working with the best [Floyd Reitsma (engineer Studio Litho); Amy Denio (accordion, clarinet); Tom and Virginia Dziekonski (strings); Wayne Horvitz(piano and Hammond B3); David Keenan (banjo); Ruthie Dornfield (fiddle)] and we’re coming up with excellent tracks to back up her amazing songs. Next – finish up back up vocals in the Winterblue Room. jean is on tour for the next few weeks, but we’re looking to wrap up in the next couple of months. I hope she leaks some tracks soon. ; )

In the studio with Eileen Cuba

I’ll be working on writing and recording some background vocals for Eileen Cuba’s new recording. She and producer Johnny Sangster have cut some fantastic basic tracks and Eileen is sounding better than ever. She is looking at an August release so keep your eyes peeled for this one, too.

Sharing shows and songs with Larry Murante

This has been a long time in coming. Larry Murante is considered one of the best voices of the Pacific Northwest. His songs are wonderful (award winning) and I’m pleased that we are finally getting our act together (okay, getting MY act together) and working up some music to play together. We have two shows in April. Both are so different I think you should come out to both. ; )

Sitting in with Jeremy Serwer and Holly Figueroa

Of course I’ve known about Jeremy and Holly’s music for a VERY long time but I have never had the honor of playing with either of them. Here I get to play with BOTH. I’m sitting in on bass for a couple of shows. They have great voices, great songs – a real treat if you are not familiar with them. And, of course, I have my guys Kelly Paletta on drums and Phil Sottile on electric guitar. Rehearsal sounded pretty darned good. I hope for more shows in the future.

Back to the Thea-tah! with RENT

As I said in the listing, Kelly Paletta introduced me to the musical director of the upcoming Mercer Island Highschool production of RENT and now I’m playing bass. Go figure! It will be great to be back in the theatre making music. But it gets me thinking… a HIGHschool doing RENT? It will be interesting to see the edits. Very excited about this.

Guests in the Winterblue Room

Long-time recording client Bob Bost continues to bring in great musicians to play on his music. We’ve recently had the multi-talented Joel Tepp, and next month the infamous Linda Waterfall will be in putting down a piano track on a beautiful new ballad by Bob.

My lovely client Jim Hannah is just about master his 7-song EP!
I’m extremely pleased with how the mixes came out and have had a lot of fun working with his musician buddies and adding some flavors of my own. I want to thank Jim for his patience over the last several months. We both had a lot on our plate, and through being gentle and encouraging with each other, we came out the other side with some great sounding songs.

Thanks, Jim!

As soon as have it mastered, I hope Jim will allow me to post some samples!
